April is the first month of the financial calendar (for most companies). This means that the display ad RPMs are usually the lowest in April.
But thanks to the growing traffic on the niche sites, the overall income was better than in March 2021.
April 2021 Highlights
After spending two months in the hills in Uttrakhand, I was back to getting locked in my Apartment.
While there is not much I can do about it, a 2-month break from the lock-down helped me get into better mind space.
Started a New Site in the Pets Niche
While I was planning to hold off on starting new sites, I got the idea for this niche while talking to a friend.
After a few hours of research, I got convinced that it’s a niche worth pursuing.
And I started right away.
I hired a few writers from WriterAccess, and by the end of the month, I had published 40 articles already.
I plan to keep publishing at a fast pace (my target is 150+ articles) and hope to see some traffic in the next 6-8 months.
Moved All Sites from SiteGround to WPX
While I have been a huge fan of SiteGround, their support has deteriorated significantly in the past few years.
Also, my plan would be up for renewal soon, and their renewal costs are quite high.
So I decided to move all my sites to WPX (where I already have a 15 site plan for two years that I took on Black Friday).
WPX offers unlimited site migration and their support is amazing. In terms of performance, it’s a lot faster than SiteGround.
As of now, I am using WPX and Kinsta for my sites, and I am happy with both.

What Am I Reading/Learning?
For April, our book club chose Bad Blood: Secrets and Lies in a Silicon Valley Startup – by John Carreyrou
I completed this book (on Audible) in 36 hours (the fastest ever for me). If you’re looking for a real-life fast-paced thriller, give this one a read.
It’s better than most of the fiction work out there.

Wpx hosting BUSINESS plan can handle how much traffic?
Depends on how well optimized the site is and how much resource it uses. I have sites with 100K+ pageviews on WPX and are working fine
