Niche Sites Income Report – March 2021

March is the quarter-end (as well as year-end) month for many companies, which translates into higher ad RPMs.

So as expected, the overall income in March was higher.

March 2021 Highlights

I decided to work from the hills (Uttrakhand) during February and was supposed to come back in March.

But I decided not to.

We decided to extend our stay for another month.

Published Entire Backlog of Articles

While I took it slow in February, I went crazy publishing all the backlog content I had in March.

In total, I published more than 200 articles across all the niche sites.

It takes a few weeks for the articles to gain rankings in SERP, and I expect to see the impact after two or three months. Not all articles would rank, but some would.

Started Working on New Niches

As I continue to streamline the process and get more efficient, I am planning to start more niche sites.

I have started working on identifying new niches. This usually takes a few days and sometimes a few weeks.

I am looking to start 2-3 new niche sites and will try and finalize the niches by month-end.

Automating Emails for Niche Sites

Having an email list is a great asset when building niche sites. It can add new ways to monetize your site, and also helps in getting better multiple when you decide to sell the site.

The problem, however, is that it takes time to craft and send regular emails.

Enters – Rasa.io

With Rasa, you can specify a handful of websites in your niche (say 10 or 15 sites), and the tool will automatically create a newsletter for your subscribers using the recent articles from these sites. This can also include your own website

So with a one-time setup, you can build an email list where it will create and send newsletters on auto-pilot.

Since this is like an email0 digest, the open and click rate won’t be great, but it allows you to build an email list and keep them engaged without any extra effort.

And you can also add a couple of affiliate links in each email (again, a one-time thing), which can bring in some income every month.

I have implemented this on one of the sites, and I will soon add this to most of my niche sites.

And the best part, I got this tool on a Lifetime deal on Appsumo…. sweet!

Content Writing with Artificial Intelligence

Another tool that really impressed me is Conversion.AI.

It’s a GPT3 content creation tool where you add some details and it will create content for you – such as blog post intro, long-form content, social media posts, emails, etc.

You still got to do the work and edit the result from the tool, but it does help speed up the process.

If you write the content yourself, I highly recommend you check it out.

I hire writers and content agencies for all my content need, but I still find this useful. I use this to change the intro or add more content in some articles.

By far, this is the best AI content tool in the market, and it’s only going to get better.

I spent a lot of time playing with it, and also created and published a full blog post. It took me less than 30 minutes to get done with that blog post. Remember that it speeds up the process, and you still got to do the editing and proofreading.

Expenses related to some of the plugins/tools are paid yearly. I will add these whenever they come up for renewal.

What Am I Reading?

For March, our book club chose the book – Millionaire Fastlane by MJ Demarco.

While it’s a highly recommended book, for me, it was a let-down. Although it does have some good pointers, overall, I didn’t find it worth my time.
